Erin McGuff-Pennington
co-founder & producer
Erin (she/her) is a writer, director, actor, producer, and mom whose work explores the multifaceted and nuanced female experience. Through storytelling that asks audiences to consider big questions rather than accept simple answers, she aims to challenge minds, open hearts, and bridge divisions.
She wrote and directed ROP’s award-winning short psychological thriller, “Rosalie,” now a proof-of-concept for her eponymous feature script, ROSALIE, a 2026 Austin Film Festival Script Competition Semifinalist.
Select works: “American Quartet” (co-writer), Filmelodic’s award-winning short film; “Sam and Barb’s School for Scandal” (co-writer, co-director), produced by Filmelodic & Schirmer Theatrical; “Fay/Ray” (producer), a comedy horror short in post. She’s a proud 2026 MOM Film Fest ambassador.
Born and raised in TX, Erin holds a BFA from NYU Tisch and lives in the Hudson Valley with her family. She loves black coffee, Ireland, and dancing her heart out.

Adriana Spencer, “Adi”
co-founder & producer
Originally from sunny California, Adriana Spencer traded the beach for the concrete jungle to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts (BFA, Drama).
Producing ROP's inaugural film, “Rosalie,” has been meaningful for Adi both personally and politically, and originating the character of Nadine, a true honor.
Along with her work at Ruffled Owl, Adriana has collaborated on indie films as an actor, producer, casting director, and story creator. She’s made several shorts with the production company Filmelodic, which sets original stories to classical music and screens them with live orchestras.
